Public Education

People with disabilities are consumers of goods and services but not all businesses/organisations are tapping into this market. Spinal Cord Injury Australia's Public Education Training will help you to attract more clients by:

  • Developing a corporate culture that promotes equity and access;
  • Removing the physical and attitudinal barriers that prevent people with physical disabilities from making full use of your services;
  • Enhancing your ability to tap into this niche market of 1.5 million people with disabilities;
  • Increasing your staff's knowledge of the needs of people with disability as they relate to your business/organisation;
  • Meeting the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and DDA; and
  • Improving customer service

The training generally incorporates issues concerning people with various types of disabilities including physical disability, vision and hearing impairments, psychiatric, intellectual and other cognitive impairment.

Our training is delivered in-house. The sessions are interactive based on adult learning principles in the areas of Disability Awareness; Spinal Cord Injury; Customer Service for People with Disabilities; Access; Assisting People Who Use Wheelchairs; Legislation Relating to People with Disability; and Disability Action Plans.

Training sessions are needs based, lively, informative and inspirational.
