Spinal Cord Injuries Australia continues today with a proud history of providing consumer based support and rehabilitation services to people with physical disabilities which began 40 years ago as the Australian Quadriplegic Association.

Early history

Since being formed as the Australian Quadriplegic Association in September 1967 to provide suitable accommodation for young people with severe spinal cord injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia has expanded its services as the need and opportunity arose. They are now extended to include all people with severe physical disabilities.

Structure & Functions

Spinal Cord injuries Australia is administered by its Board and Senior Managers, and operates services in the areas of Advocacy, Information, Accommodation, Community & Personal Support, Illawarra/Far South Region, Employment & Consultancy. Its internal operations include Human Resources, Financial Services, Company Administration, Information Technology, Fundraising and Promotions.
