ICE - In Case of Emergency
We all carry our mobile phone with names and numbers stored in its memory but nobody who finds it knows whom to call in an emergency.
The people helping us would have the phone, but from the many numbers stored in it’s contacts list which one is the person to call?
The ICE (In Case of Emergency) concept is to store the number of the person who should be contacted during emergency under the name ICE. For more than one contact the names ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc could be used.
Anyone who calls the number doesn’t need to know who is being called but knows that it will reach the key person.
The idea came from a British paramedic and is spreading around the world. He said a uniform approach to searching inside a mobile phone for an emergency contact makes it easier for everyone.
